By introducing fast EV chargers at its forecourts, Shell is widening its service portfolio with electric mobility solution for Ukrainian customers. This is in line with Shell’s global strategy to meet growing demand for transport in a lower carbon world. Shell expects to expand its offering of EV chargers on its retail sites across Ukraine over the coming years, aligning with growing customers’ demands.

The new fast charging stations have a charging capacity of up to 50 kW, allowing electric cars to reach up to 80% charge in less than 30 minutes. Customers can find the location and availability of the chargers with the “STRUM Charging” mobile app, available on both iOS and Android platforms.

During the official opening ceremony Peter Kerekgyarto, General Director of Shell Retail Ukraine said: “I am proud to inaugurate the first of three EV chargers at Shell retail stations in the Ukraine in cooperation with DTEK. It will further strengthen our ability to offer a wide range of mobility products and services to our customers. With Shell’s new EV service stations, customers can enjoy our Fast Food offer by having their refreshing coffee, delicious premium Hot Dogs or even salads and fruits while they charge their cars.”

Notes to editors:

In 2017, Shell acquired NewMotion, one of the largest suppliers of chargers and services for electric vehicles, thanks to which Shell expanded access to more than 50,000 charging stations in Europe. Following an agreement with IONITY, Shell will also offer super-fast 350kW charging points across ten European countries, starting with 80 of Shell’s biggest European highway stations, allowing drivers to travel long distances with high confidence.
